Lavodrama – Zurich CD
With It's close, that's what matters (BCore, 07), this trio made us get up from the armchair with a volley of energetic post-core that we hadn't heard since the days of Aina. Musically raised in the mythical Arrebato venue in Zaragoza after experiences with bands like Waco or William, they inadvertently became one of the most representative groups of the new Zaragoza hardcore scene along with Persona. Playing in all parts of the state with Nueva Vulcano, Delorean or No More Lies, they impressed the American Medications of Dischord Records with their live show, with whom they went on tour throughout Europe, and with their batteries recharged they found time to go to the Ultramarinos Costa Brava studios and record five new songs together with Santi Garcia as the culmination of such a brilliant season. Santi not only contributed his skills as an engineer, but also became responsible for a large part of the arrangements, which with the help of his brother Víctor and his collaboration on the piano gave this EP a turn towards the intelligible that blends perfectly with the band's love of difficult and maverick sounds. Youthful adrenaline, twisted at times and restrained at others, which reminds us of those long-awaited Kerosene 454 or Bluetip. A small gift in the form of an EP to remind us that they are out there giving war, with more mature songs and greater precision, total control over dissonance, explicit lyrics and richer instrumental passages than ever, so that we continue to believe in youth as the main underground asset.
