Yes, are kings of progressive rock. Formed in London in 1968, the original lineup featured vocalist Jon Anderson, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, bassist Chris Squire, and drummer Bill Bruford. The band was known for pushing the boundaries of music, exploring and blending styles from psychedelia to classical to pop. The band went through several lineup changes and were known for their elaborate stage sets and fantastic album covers.
They were prolific musicians – in 1983, Yes produced their eleventh studio album 90125. The album introduced the band to a new generation of fans, reaching number 5 on the U.S. Billboard charts. The track “Owner of a Lonely Heart” topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and is still their most popular song today. “Cinema” earned the group a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. In 2017, YES was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
