Written, performed, and recorded entirely by Carter in a makeshift basement studio with bargain bin mics, a half-broken soundboard, and cheap plastic interfaces, Carter channels inspiration from the likes of The Beach Boys and The Zombies, as well as contemporaries like Fleet Foxes and The Shins. Carter layers harmonies and lyrics that address existential crises and everyday mundanities with a wink and a smirk. Managed by Tyler Williams (the Head and The Heart) and Lights Out Management (the team behind Lucy Dacus), with an impending release on Egghunt Records (Eric Slick, Lucy Dacus, Camp Howard), and a rigorous fall tour schedule on the horizon, Minor Poet is already garnering much attention throughout the broader music community
